Driving lessons at the Ranch are a great way to actively learn and participate in the exciting and rewarding sport of driving horses. Come explore the rich tradition of horse drawn carriages and sleighs with us! Here are some key features and goals we will incorporate into your lesson time:

Learn harness parts, and how to harness and hitch up both a single and pairs
Horsemanship training with concentration on successful communication methods to ensure harmony for happy, calm horses
“Putting to” a vehicle
Vehicle safety
Driving safety
Emergency procedures
History of driving in the US, as well as around the world, and the factors which influenced and formed the tried-and-true driving practices in place today.

RELATED RIDING AND NON-RIDING OPTIONS

5-6 hours of riding, a healthy lunch, and lots of fun! Also included is a mounted demonstration and a group horse-drawn ride throughout the Ranch property and trails. A full day of riding guaranteed to safely advance riding skills. Learn new skills and make new friends, both horse and human!
